Wet Betty

About Wet Betty.

A guide to lube, dryness and pleasure that reads the filings so you do not have to.

Wet Betty exists because the two best selling lubes in America measure five to twenty times saltier than the tissue they are sold for, and nobody at the drugstore is going to tell you that.

We cover personal lubricant, vaginal dryness and menopause comfort, and pleasure, in plain English, for adults who want a straight answer. The voice is the frank friend who happens to have read the FDA filings. The data is real: every osmolality and pH number on this site comes from a primary source, and the whole ledger is open at the lube index.

Who is behind it.

Wet Betty is published by Theory Road LLC, an Austin, Texas company that builds and runs independent consumer guides. The editorial team writes, researches and updates every guide. We are not clinicians and we say so on every page; where a question needs a doctor, we tell you to see one.

We are working on adding a licensed medical reviewer to the masthead. Until that is in place, our sources are the clinical guidance itself: the WHO/UNFPA/FHI360 lubricant advisory, FDA 510(k) filings, ACOG patient guidance, and peer reviewed measurements. Every guide lists them at the bottom.

How we make money.

Through affiliate links, mostly Amazon. When you buy through a link here, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. It never decides what we recommend: K-Y Jelly and Astroglide Liquid would earn us the same commission as the products that beat them, and they are the two we tell you to skip. Read the full disclosure and how we review.

Questions get answered on the site, anonymously. Corrections get fixed within a week with a note. Brands can send a product and its 510(k) summary for the index; it gets the same grading as everyone else. Contact or email hello@wetbetty.com.
